The two parties cooperated to launch the psychological support line on 01155509900. The calls will be answered by an elite of doctors and psychologists in complete confidentiality.
It will be optional to send a message on WhatsApp or to the Egyptian Red Crescent's official page in case the requestor prepares not to make a phone call, and the messages will also be answered by specialists in complete confidentiality.
In a statement by the director of Plan International Egypt, Mr. Mudassir Siddiqui, he emphasized the organization's belief in the importance of providing psychological support services of high quality during this period, and that it is carried out by an trustful entity, which is applies to the Egyptian Red Crescent.
Siddiqui added:
The covid-19 epidemic crisis known as (Coruna virua) has severe psychological effects no less severe than the health, economic and social impacts of this crisis that the world has not witnessed before.
Special attention should be given to the effects of this crisis on children and girls in particular, as these groups become more vulnerable to various forms of violence and psychological pressures as a result of the state of tension and anxiety and the economic crisis resulting from the outbreak of the Corona pandemic.
So it is necessary to provide them with psychological support to deal with these psychological crises.
Mental health is essential in all aspects of life, and it is the pillar upon which physical health is based.
The two sides agreed that the areas of cooperation include training the youth leaders with whom the Plan International Egypt works with on the basis disinfection of public places and providing the necessary materials for that.
This is part of the efforts of Plan International Egypt to support youth social initiatives.
About 30 young men and women from the societies in which Plan International Egypt operates will benefit from these trainings.
It's worth mentioning that, in the light of the cooperation between Plan International Egypt and the Egyptian Red Crescent, psychological support will also be provided to the employees of Plan International Egypt through group and individual sessions in order to help workers adapt to the new work requirements and the pressures imposed by the nature of the current stage.
The mental health of the organization's employees is one of the most important priorities, as Siddiqui emphasized.
