Emergency Action Team volunteers

During the latest events in Egypt, the Egyptian Red Crescent (ERC) deployed Emergency Action Team volunteers in all areas of demonstrations in Cairo, Alexandria, Port Said and Suez to provide emergency medical services and purchase drugs and medical supplies to those in need.

The Egyptian Red Crescent volunteers offered their support to all parties in accordance with the fundamental principles of the International Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement, especially neutrality, impartiality and independence. ERC deployed 13 Emergency Action Teams (65 Volunteers) in Rabaa Al Adawyia Square in Nasr city, Nahda square, Tahrir Square, and Al Alatahdya and Quba Palace, Ministry of defense and presidential guards as well as in Alexandria, Port Said and Suez. The teams provided the first aid services and coordinated with the Egyptian ambulances Organization (Ministry of Health) and the field Hospitals (Two photos are attached).

On 27 July 2013, five teams (25 Volunteers) were deployed in Rabaa Al Adawyia in Nasr city. ERC volunteers purchased drugs and medical supplies requested by some of the field hospitals in Rabaa Al Adawyia.
