18 Aug 2015
Aboul Rish children hospital was the destination for a convoy of 12 volunteers from the Egyptian Red Crescent (ERC) this week. Their mission was to raise the awareness of many mothers and their children about infectious diseases prevention.
In the beginning ERC volunteers gave a lecture about infection diseases prevention control and gave some examples about common diseases as diarrhea and heat stroke prevention.
They also gave information and educational materials about personal hygiene. After the lecture, the volunteers visited some children in their rooms to teach them how to protect their teeth, and gave them some toothbrush, tooth paste and educational games.
ERC convoy visit to Aboul Rish hospital is part of the Health and Safety project which ERC is implementing in the cooperation with the Swiss Red Cross. The project aims to raise the children awareness and develop their capacity to deal to emergency situations.
At the end of the visit, the parents thanked ERC volunteers and demanded the volunteers to repeat this kind of visits which helps to improve the psychological state of their children.
