The Egyptian Red Crescent participate in the relief for the victims of floods

In response to the torrential rains hitting several governorates in Egypt, the Egyptian Red Crescent (ERC) deployed the National Disaster Response Teams (NDRT) on spot to the most affected governorates.
In Ismailia, 120 families affected were approached by ERC in the most affected villages: alsab’a – Abar Sharfeya, Al-Mahsana and Al-wasfeya. The ERC National Disaster Response Teams distributed 150 food parcels, 240 Kg of meat and 240 blankets. The teams also visited the affected families to provide psychological support.
In Alexandria, the ERC assessment team collected the data of 64 most affected families and the needs are studied in order to be fulfilled according to the priorities and within the available resources. Cash support (5000 EGP per family) was provided by ERC to the families of the 6 victims who lost of their lives.
In Behera, the ERC assessment team was directed to Al Afouna village, which was heavily affected by the rains. 103 families were approached, investigated and supported by ERC. The National Disaster Response Team distributed 250 blankets, in addition to clothes that were donated to ERC branch.
ERC continues the response actions in coordination with the Ministry of Social Solidarity and other responsible authorities.
