ERC first meeting to discuss “Healthcare in Danger”

The Egyptian Red Crescent headquarters in Nasr City organized a meeting named “Healthcare in Danger” in order to discuss the preparations of a conference to be held in December. The Dean of the Faculty of Medicine Cairo University, head of Egyptian ambulance organization and representatives from the Ministry of Health and Population, the Ministry of Justice, the World Health Organization, the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) and Ain Shams University participated in that meeting.
The participants discussed the risks that medical staff encounters especially in areas in dispute and armed conflicts.
Prof. Moamena Kamel pointed out the international initiative for health service protection adopted by the International Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement since 2011. She also mentioned that the real victims are the injured people and the patients.
